WIC Services

Only available at Bastrop Community Health Center and Monroe Community Health Center.

CommuniHealth Services offers WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) services to support healthy pregnancies, growing babies, and young children. WIC provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy food benefits, and referrals to other helpful services for eligible women, infants, and children.

Our team helps families understand their benefits, make healthy food choices, and access resources that promote lifelong health. WIC services are available for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five who meet program eligibility guidelines.

Through WIC, eligible families may receive:

  • Nutrition education and counseling tailored to support healthy eating and positive lifestyle habits.
  • Breastfeeding support, including education, encouragement, and access to trained breastfeeding professionals.
  • Healthy food benefits through an electronic WIC (eWIC) card that can be used at authorized grocery stores to purchase nutritious foods. Depending on individual needs, benefits may include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, cereals, peanut butter, beans, infant foods, infant formula (when appropriate), and other approved healthy foods.
  • Growth and nutrition monitoring to help ensure children are developing and growing appropriately.
  • Referrals to healthcare and community resources for additional medical, social, and family support services.

At CommuniHealth Services, we are committed to helping families build a strong foundation for lifelong health. Our compassionate WIC team is here to provide guidance, encouragement, and resources every step of the way.
